Born in Bradford, Yorkshire, England

Came to British Columbia, Canada in 1957

Resided in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows for 48 years

Chris has a huge appetite for Remote and Wild places, his first trips started in his early teens with climbs on Mount Garibaldi and Golden Ears Park in winter. Since his teen years his ambitious ways have taken him around world on great journeys of discovery to date over 5000 trips in 37 years.

Some highlights have been

Seven Canadian High Arctic expeditions.

Ski Descents of Mount Kennedy in the Saint Elias range Yukon Territory.

Ski Descent of 20,000ft Pasterachu Peak in Peru, South America.

Climbs on Northwest arete of Mount Sir Donald in the Rogers pass area.

In 2004 Made a Canoe journey from Petersburg, Alaska, to Vancouver, BC 105 Days of exploration

In 1997 a Canoe Journey with RCMP and Roy Vickers to Victoria from Hazelton, BC Vision Quest.

Hundreds of whitewater river descents by canoe including Stuart, Fraser, Nachako and Thompson.

Professional Canoe Guide since 1979

Owner of one of the largest commercial fleets of Canadian Historical Canadian Voyageur canoes that provide a variety of day to week long journeys in British Columbia.

Chris has had the opportunity of organizing a variety of high end custom journeys for the most adventurous traveller including Ellesmere Island in Canada’s High Arctic. Banks Island in Canada’s Western Arctic.

Most recent Arctic Expedition was to Ellesmere and Coburg Islands, I am presently doing a lecture circuit in the lower mainland libraries as well as Art centres and outdoor clubs.

In British Columbia a variety of expeditions, some which include the Mount Waddington and Pantheon ranges. Chilko Lake in the Chilcotins and the British Columbia coast by traditional Northwest canoe from Burnett Bay to Telegraph Cove also including Haida Gwaii in the Queen Charlotte Islands

Future endeavours: 2008/2009

The Cicumnavigation of the British Isles by Canoe ( Spirit Dancer ) a 42ft Ocean Going Canoe.

Main sponsor for Pulling Together Canoe journeys for Aboriginal Youth for the years 2000 to 2006

Sponsoring youth and adults in different communities of the BC Coast including, Metlakatla, Hartly Bay, Klemtu, Bella Bella, Squamish Nation and many other villages of British Columbia.

Sponsored Finn Donnelly on his swims on the Frazer River and Pitt Lake for environment issues.

Provided Lectures on Outdoor travel for the elderly at Ridge Meadows Hospital.

Personal Information:

Chris has now been in 7 film documentaries, most recently ZDF German Television a film called Paradise of the North.
In 2005 Chris was hosted live via satellite telephone on Global Television, also 2 other separate interviews in the studio on Global Television, hosted on CBC re: Canoe journey on the 2005 Fraser River ‘ Pulling Together’.

I would also like to mention that I have had appearances in Explore Magazine, Adventurous Magazine, Canadian Geographic Magazine, High Life British Air UK magazine, High Magazine UK, BC Business, Kanawa magazine and many dozens of stories in our local papers and including the Victoria Times, Province and Vancouver Sun papers.
